regenerative approach

We define “regeneration” as a return to our intrinsic state of wholeness and interconnection. Our regenerative approach recognizes and affirms our interdependence with the natural world, our communities and our multiple lineages. Regenerative practice invites us to move away from systems of domination and exploitation to those aligned with principles of nature, such as evolution, emergence, adaptation and reciprocity. It calls us to examine individual and collective patterns, unearth root causes, and move from isolation to interconnection, thereby creating pathways for collective solidarity and thriving.

Our regenerative approach to consulting and herbalism invites us to re-sensitize, reconnect, and reorient ourselves to our bodies, our environment and our communities. By remembering our wholeness, we expand our capacity to navigate the complexity of surviving, resisting, and healing from oppression simultaneously.

This approach is neither new nor innovative; rather, it draws upon the timeless wisdom of the natural world, the deep lineages of Indigenous practices and Black feminist thought, and frameworks of abolition, healing justice and somatics.

By embracing a regenerative approach, we seek to unlearn practices rooted in individualism, domination, and extraction and integrate those centered on collaboration, mutuality and interdependence.

Centering Racial Justice and healing

At Regeneration, we center racial justice and healing in all of our offerings, and partner with social changemakers of all identities and backgrounds. We support people in building their practice to embody racial justice for the long haul, in connection to all movements for social justice and freedom.

Healing is an integral part of this work. It requires nourishing our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies—and expanding our capacity to hold and tend to discomfort while engaging in the struggles for justice. Beyond intellectual understanding, we emphasize practices that create space within a pressured nervous system to act with choice, intention, and courage.

We also provide specialized offerings for white-identified people, understanding that white people have a distinct role in learning about and interrupting racism and anti-Blackness, as well as engaging in reparative actions to address racial harm.
